You
may use the following combinations of keystrokes to produce foreign
language characters in word documents. If you want to type é,
here is how it works:
On a PC, first, make sure Num Lock is on. Press
and hold the ALT key down while you key in the numbers 130 using
the number pad on the right side of the keyboard.
On a MAC, hold the first two keys down simultaneously,
release, and then type the letter you wish to be accented. For é,
hold the ‘OPTION’, and the é keys down simultaneously
release and then type e.
