Opportunities for extra credit:

If you wish to replace a low quiz score or an unexcused absence, you can earn extra credit by attending a German cultural event and writing a one-page report (250-300 words) about your experience.

Your report must be typed and double-spaced and formatted according to the guidelines for formal papers. The first half of the paper should summarize the film or event; the second half should provide your response to the event, i.e. what you thought was good, not so good, and why.

Students in 1010 should write at least three sentences in German, incorporating structures and vocabulary from the chapter of Vorsprung on which we are working at the time of the event.

Students in 1020 should write 1/3 of the paper in German.

Students in 2010, 2020, 3100, and 3200 should write the entire paper in German.
