initiatives at Brown Bag talks to their peers. During these sessions
faculty elaborate on their Mini-Grant projects by describing their
instructional need for the use of technology, discussing what worked
for them and what did not, both during the development of the project
and its implementation, and discussing student responses. |

Please
join us for this FLTC brown bag session in which Selina and Julie
will discuss how wikis can be used for collaborative writing in
the basic language courses. This online tool offers new ways for
language learners to interact and create texts with their peers.
There will also be a
brief discussion on how wikis are used in the context of research
– how a wiki can facilitate research, and some challenges
and opportunities of such work.
Selina and Julie will
then demonstrate how they use www.pbworks.com
in their German classes and the participants will have the opportunity
to create an account and practice setting up a wiki. |

join us for this FLTC brown bag session in which Felicia will discuss
how technology can be used to assess foreign language oral skills.
Professor Lucht will then demonstrate how the German classes are
using “Conversations”, an Internet application created
by the Center for Language Education and Research at Michigan State
University and available on their Website as a free download (with
registration): http://clear.msu.edu/clear/
Participants will have the opportunity to create a CLEAR account
and practice using the application. |
