The
Foreign Language Technology Center (FLTC) at Wayne State University
is an academic support unit in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
and primarily supports the Department of Classical and Modern Languages,
Literatures, and Cultures, and the English Language Institute. The
FLTC meets the instructional technology needs of full-time and part-time
faculty, lecturers and graduate teaching assistants in the program
areas of Greek, Latin and Classics, Romance Languages, German and
Slavic, Near East and Asian, and English as a Second Language. Occupying
most of the third floor of the Manoogian Ethnic Heritage Center,
the FLTC has a modern technology infrastructure comprising several
multimedia instructional labs, AV equipment, rich digital resources
and onsite technical staff.
The mission of the FLTC is to promote and facilitate the meaningful
use of technology to enhance the teaching and learning of foreign
languages, literatures and culture. It does so through Programs
to motivate instructional technology use, Technology Resources,
Services provided, and Events for faculty and students.
